Director of Deliverance Community Development Corporation:
Dot Newton
Deliverance Community Development Corporation (DCDC), an affiliate of the Deliverance Evangelistic Church was initially established in 2002 under the name Deliverance Center of Hope, by leaders of the Church. The need for a community service component grew out of work at the Church in the areas of social services, cultural enrichment, family life services, and outreach to the surrounding community.
DCDC works closely with community partners, city officials, politicians and various city departments and programs such as Philly Rising to address violence, unemployment, ex-offenders and other ills in the community, via jobs fairs, gun buy-back programs, youth development, expungement clinics, etc.
2015 is expected to bring about some major changes to the DCDC with the proposed development of an adult daycare, a child-daycare, senior housing, and a state of the art banquet facility.
